Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the Department of Public Housing and Settlement Areas in the drainage system in Pekanbaru City. Departing from the phenomena that were previously in the field, the aim of the research is to find out the extent to which related performance is involved in carrying out the role and obstacles in providing the implementation of the drainage system. role and role conflict. In this study, the method used was descriptive qualitative. The numerical data that comes from interviews with research subjects is the Department of Public Housing and Settlement Areas which provides a drainage system for the city of Pekanbaru. Furthermore, the data collection used in this study was done through interview, observation, and documentation techniques. The results of this study indicate that the Department of Public Housing and Settlement Areas has not carried out an optimal role where there are still many problems with drainage channels that do not work to circulate air and result in channels. Meanwhile, in terms of obstacles, it is known that there is a lack in the drainage system and outreach to the community regarding the cleanliness of the canal.
