Abstract

THE EFFORT OF TAHFIDZ TEACHER IN IMPROVING STUDENTS’ MEMORIZING AT SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL IT AL-HUSNA KUBANG KAMPAR REGENCY M. WALKADRI 192410059 The background of problems in this research was lack of students’ Al-Qur’an memorizing ability that needed serious guidance in Al-Qur’an recitation suitable with Tajwid science, lack of memorizing spirit that needed serous motivation, lack of muraja’ah defence ability in Al-Qur’an memorizing. The purpose in this research examined to improve students’ memorizing improvement at senior high school IT Al Husna Kubang Kampar Regency. This research used descriptive qualitative method. Research findings showed that the effort of Tahfidz teacher in improving students’ memorizing at senior high school IT Al Husna that was: (1) teacher made an effort to build Ikhlas value in memorizing, building love value to Al- Qur’an, creating comfort feeling in class, and chose appropriate time to memorize and deposit the rote. (2) Teacher explained and practiced tajwid rules to students, teaching basic Arabic language, using appropriate methods in memorizing, monitoring deposit muraja’ah and creating Al-Qur’an Tahfidz contest as a way to improve motivation and students’ award.
