Abstract

The population of urban areas are growing up, it will increase the areas in cities to accommodate all the activities. So that peoples occupy marginal lands which form slum areas. There are several factors of the Slum areas in Tarai Bangun Village, including aspect location, aspect population,aspect condition of the buildings, aspect socio-economic conditions, and aspects environmental facilities and infrastructure problems. Base on the background, the aim of this research are: (1) How condition existing of slum area? (2) The factor causes of slum area? (3) Give recommendation for handling Slum area on Tarai Bangun Village? After determining the factors of the slum areas in Tarai Bangun Village, then the resecers give a recommendation are made for the Management of Slum Areas in Tarai Bangun Village. The research method of this study the factors of slums areas were using quantitative descriptive method. Using scoring analysis (weighting). Theresearch variables were aspect location, aspect population, aspect building conditions, aspect conditions of facilities and infrastructure and aspect socio-economic conditions. Meanwhile, the analysis method used to formulate recommendations for handling slum areas is descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of the analysis factors of slum areas in the Tarai Bangun village in aspects of location, population aspects, building condition aspects, facilities and infrastructure condition aspects and socio-economic condition aspects using weighting analysis. The aspect of facilities and infrastructure were the highest aspect of the weighting analysis, it were 28 weight of value. The results of the analysis of recommendations for handling slum areas in Tarai Bangun Village, obtained a recommendation to deal with the problem of slum areas is to make improvements and semenization of the road and drainage networks. Synergize local government, village government, and communities to determine the provision of sanitation land. As well as providing solid waste facilities by providing land for garbage bins and TPS.
