Abstract

The development of the concrete industry in Rimbo Panjang Village in the period 2011-2020 experienced a fairly rapid development which will have an impact on the high demand for land both from industrial activities and for supporting activities such as settlements, which will affect changes in land use around it. These changes include an increase in the area of built-up land which has an impact on the decrease in the area of undeveloped land in Rimbo Panjang Village. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the development of the concrete industry on changes in land use in Rimbo Panjang Village. This study uses a quantitative method in the form of multiple linear regression analysis to measure the effect of the development of the concrete industry on land use changes. Concrete industry data is obtained through secondary surveys in the form of document reviews and primary surveys in the form of interviews and documentation. While the land use area data is calculated using Arc-GIS against satellite image maps sourced from Google Earth which is then analyzed using the Time Series. The results of this study indicate that in the period 2011 -2020 there was an increase in the number of concrete industries by 4 units, an increase in the area of the concrete industry in an area of 42.33 hectares, and an increase in the number of workers by 309 people. Based on the results of the time series of the land use map in the period 2011 -2020, the largest land use change occurred in the use of bushland land, settlements and the concrete industry. The results of multiple linear regression analysis based on the t-test, that an increase in the number of concrete industries (X1) affects changes in land use (Y), an increase in land area for concrete industries (X2) affects changes in land use (Y) and an increase in the number of workers (X3) has no effect on land use change (Y).
