Abstract

Hot issue that will always arise, from one period to the next is related to Leadership in Government. This research is focused and the aim of examining how the thought of government leadership according to Al-Mawardi's perspective in Kitab Al-Ahkam As-Sulthaniyyah how to apply the values of Al-Mawardi's thought in the implementation of Indonesian government. Types of research This method uses a Qualitative Research method research approach Librarywith primary data sources from the book Al-Ahkam As-Sulthaniyah by Abu Al-Hasan Ali bin Muhammad bin Habib Al-Mawardi Al-Bashri and secondary references in the form of articles, journals , books, and other scientific works, related to research. The results of the study found that government leadership according to Imam Al-Mawardi has two functions, namely to maintain religion and regulate the world, these functions can be realized properly if the leader has fulfilled the seven requirements as a leader, Fair, have knowledge, Healthy Sensory, Healthy limbs, have insight, Courageous and is a descendant of Quraysh. The key to the success and prosperity of government leadership, leaders must instill the value of obedience to Allah and the Messenger as well as trust and justice. as a support source of state treasury finances obtained from alms (zakat), fai, ghanimah, jizyah and Al-kharaj (taxes). The application of the leadership of the Al-Mawardi Government can be applied in the nature of leadership not on governance, especially in Indonesia.
