Abstract

The blockage of the Float Equipment (FE) causes problems with the injection process of drilling mud during the circulation of the drilling mud before cementing the well in the 13 3/8” casing. In addition, the FE also functions to prevent cement and fluid from being injected back into the casing during circulation. The failure of the FE function has an impact on the well work process both in terms of time and cost, efforts are also needed to slow down the hardening of the cement that has been made. there may be objects that have fallen or object that has been pumped into the casing such as cutting, sand, failure of the External Casing Package (ECP), and jammed casing. From these problems, the researchers aim to analyze the drilling data to obtain more accurate factors that cause FE blockages and the right way of handling if the same problem occurs when constructing new oil and gas wells. The method used is descriptive qualitative data sieve analysis, mud logging, mud reports, and drilling programs. From the research results, it was found that the factors causing FE blockage in the circulation process of drilling mud gas well YZ, the well studied had sand grains measuring 0.15 mm with sandstone lithology dominant. The level of sand content in the drilling mud reached 1.8-2% exceeding the maximum allowed limit of 1.5%, then 10 liters of fine sand were also found in the FE which was the cause of the blockage. The next causal factor is the negligence of the drilling program procedure. The handling method is carried out by slowly pulling and lowering the casing, Lifting the casing while circulating it, Pulling the casing to the surface to ensure there is a clogging material, and Cleaning the wellbore using BHA in stages. Reinstalling the casing series, the final step is to re-clean the well 3 times. The series of treatments that have been carried out get good results on the performance of the FE and mud pump at normal pressure.
