Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the contribution of explosive power of the arm muscles and balance to the shot put results at SMPN 4 Benai. The type of this research is multiple correlation. The population and sample in this study were 18 class VII female students at SMPN 4 Benai. The research instrument used was an explosive power arm muscle test by rejecting a medicine ball, a balance test with a stork stand and a shot put test. Based on the research results, the conclusions in this research were: (1) There was an explosive contribution of arm muscle power to the shot put result of SMPN 4 Benai by 54.02%, (2) There was a balance contribution to the shot put result at SMPN 4 Benai by 34.46 %, (3) There is an explosive contribution of arm muscle power and balance to the shot put result of SMPN 4 Benai by 71.23%.
