Abstract
Mathematics is one of the subjects that can develop students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. Learning mathematics can lead a person to think critically, creatively, systematically, and logically. In the field of mathematics, the ability to think creatively mathematically is needed. This is because the ability to think creatively mathematically can train students in designing various kinds of solutions to solve a problem. Although students' mathematical creative thinking abilityare very important, in fact students' mathematical creative thinking ability are still relatively low. This study aims to determine how students' mathematical creative thinking ability in the material derived from algebraic functions in class XI SMAN 1 Pangean. The approach and design used in this study were qualitative and descriptive. Data collection techniques used in this study were written tests, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques used in this research are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Based on the analysis of the research results, it can be shown that the students' mathematical creative thinking ability in the derivative of algebraic functions material in class XI SMA N 1 Pangean are in creative category. This is because based on the results of test and interview data analysis the average percentage obtained from the four indicators of mathematical creative thinking ability is 69.78% and based on the results of questionnaire data analysis the average percentage of the four indicators of mathematical creative thinking ability is 72.68 %.
