Abstract

Road damage that occurred in various areas, especially on Jalan Nusantara Jaya – Kempas, Keritang Sub-District, Indragiri Hilir Regency is currently a very complex problem and the losses suffered are enormous, especially for road users, such as the occurrence of long travel times, traffic jams, accidents. traffic, etc. Heavy vehicles that are overloaded or exceed the capacity of the vehicle can also cause road damage. Therefore, it is necessary to know the LHR of vehicles passing on the road that will be examined and to know the level of road damage to carry out maintenance that is prevention on the road to be studied is a local road with a length of approximately 15 kilometers. This research method uses two methods, the first is to calculate the equivalent number of vehicle axle loads to determine the value of the truck factor whether the road is overloaded or not, the second is to determine the level of road damage using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method. Data collection was carried out by means of a field survey by collecting average daily traffic data (LHR), road damage in the form of road width, segment length, and area of damage. The results of a data analysis study in the field, data (LHR) on the Nusantara Jaya Kl 4 - Kempas Jaya Kl 7 road section, Indragiri Hilir district, obtained a total of 1964 vehicles/day/2 directions. And getting the Truck Factor value obtained from the results of the analysis is 5.21> 1, so the results of the Truck Factor analysis on the road section are overloaded. And the damage found on the Nusantara Jaya Kl 4 – Kempas Jaya Kl 7 road section, namely: Longitudinal cracks, Crocodile skin cracks, patches, Holes and Grooves. The results of the study of the damage that occurred on the Nusantara Jaya Kl 4 – Kempas Jaya Kl 7 road section showed a very poor PCI 21 value (Very Poor). Because heavy vehicles passing by are overloaded so that the road quickly gets damaged so it needs periodic repairs.
