Abstract
Build a linux-based mail server using postfix.Bachelor of Computer Science Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Sebelas Maret University. The purpose of this research is to builda mail server system whose job is to handle internal e-mail traffica computer network system implemented on the Linux platform which is famous for being free, reliable and stable in handling server functions by using the MTA Postfix application. In building a mail server based on Linux using Postfix conducted studies and research using literature study methods on various sources either through books or browsing the internet. In addition, the interview method was also used literature study method with Slackware Linux OS and Postfix software, Apache, MySQL, BIND, IMAP and Uebmiau. From the results of the Final Project it can be concluded that Postfix is an alternative Linux-based MTA that designed to be faster, easier to maintain and more secure in handling email receiving and sending traffic.
