Abstract

Irrigation is an effort to drain water from the source so that it can be used more optimally in the agricultural process for farmers, it is necessary to know the magnitude of the availability and demand for irrigation water in the Koto Kari tourist lake to become a benchmark for farmers in carrying out agricultural activities in the field of rice fields. Koto Kari tourist lake is a source of water for agricultural commodities in the area around the lake, water availability analysis uses Thornwaite Mather calculation method and water needs with manual calculation concept (KP-01). From the results of the analysis of the total runoff (RO) of 798.21 mm/day and the total (IR) irrigation water requirement of 244.41 mm/day, where RO > IR which means that the availability of water in the Koto Kari tourist lake is sufficient to meet the irrigation water needs of rice fields. Area of 79 ha, but in terms of the research location there are plots of rice fields that experience water shortages due to irrigation buildings that are not maintained so that they can cause leaks in irrigation canals and cause irrigation not to run properly, then sedimentation in the channels can hinder the flow of water. Irrigation water.
