Abstract

Analysis of Income from Independent Oil Palm Farming and Its Contribution to Household Income in Gunung Sahilan District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. Under the Guidance of Mr. Dr.Ir. Ujang Paman Ismail, M.Agr The self-help pattern of oil palm farming is used as the main source of family income and also for additional income for people who already have other basic livelihoods such as traders, civil servants and others. This study aims to analyze 1. the characteristics of smallholders and the profile of independent smallholder oil palm farming in Gunung Sahilan District 2. the cost, income and efficiency of independent smallholder oil palm farming 3. the contribution of oil palm farming income to the total income of smallholder households. This study used a survey method with a total sample of 20, descriptive and quantitative analysis tools located in Gunung Sahilan District, Kampar Regency. The results showed: (1) The characteristics of the sample farmers based on the age group of the average farmer were 52 years old, the average education level of farmers was at the junior high school level (9 years), the average farmer's experience in farming was 15 years, the number of family dependents the average farmer has a number of dependents 3. Profile of independent oil palm farming in Gunung Sahilan District has an average land area of 3ha, based on land ownership status as a whole farmers own their own land. (2) The total cost of self-supporting oil palm farming in Gunung Sahilan District is IDR 7,196,544/work/month. The gross income of oil palm farming is IDR 9,349,270/cultivation/month. Net income after deducting farming costs is IDR 2,152,725. The efficiency of oil palm farming is 1.37, which means that oil palm farming is feasible to develop. (3) Total household income of oil palm farmers in Gunung Sahilan District consists of income from oil palm farming, non-oil palm farming and non-farming. The contribution of oil palm farming to total farmer household income is 64.68%, the contribution of non-oil palm farming income to total farmer household income is 15.37% and the contribution of non-farming income to total farmer household income is 19.95%.
