Abstract

Based on initial observations, teachers at SDN 94 Pekanbaru have facilitated student learning to support the learning process in the classroom. This study aims to determine the role, constraints and solutions of the teacher as a facilitator in the learning of fifth grade students at SDN 94 Pekanbaru. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. There are two sources of data, namely primary data sources and secondary data sources. Primary and secondary data sources involved two teachers, four students and one principal. Data collection techniques and instruments are interviews, observation and documentation. Testing the validity of the data using source triangulation and technical triangulation. The triangulation of sources used is related to two teachers, four students and one principal as well as documents. Technical triangulation is done by checking data from the same source with different techniques. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. In data reduction, you can retrieve the required data according to the role, constraints and solutions of the teacher in facilitating student learning. The presentation of the data is presented descriptively related to the role, constraints and solutions of the teacher which consists of four learning tools and two learning facilities. The conclusion of this study is that teachers at SDN 94 Pekanbaru as a whole have tried to carry out their role as facilitators in learning even though teachers have not shown maximum results.
