Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on the world's population. All segments are disturbed, including the world of education. In this study, researchers used class VIII students at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru as research subjects. This study has two objectives: 1) to find out the differences in the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII junior high school students in the learning process before and during the Covid 19 pandemic, 2) to find out whether there is an influence of interest in learning with the learning outcomes of class VIII junior high school students during the Covid 19 pandemic. This study uses quantitative research methods with comparative causal type. In this study, the average student learning outcomes in the online learning process were higher than in the offline learning process. The results of the one-way ANOVA test showed that there was a significant effect of interest in learning on students' mathematics learning outcomes in the online learning process. The results show that students with interest in learning are divided into three components, namely high, medium and low.
