Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the Immigration Detention Center in Monitoring Immigrants in Pekanbaru City, the increasing number of immigrants from various countries demands that the Immigration Detention Center can carry out careful and structured supervision. However, based on the facts obtained by the author through observations that the implementation of supervision of immigrants is still far from lacking, it is constrained by the lack of manpower or human resources owned by the Immigration Detention Center, and unclear rules for how long they have to be here. In general, this study aims to describe the role of immigration detention centers in monitoring immigrants in the city of Pekanbaru. This study uses a qualitative research type. The focus of this research is based on 3 criteria, namely rules/norms, individuals and social structures. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews and data related to the problem of the meticulous writer. The results of this study indicate that in general the implementation of immigrant supervision in the city of Pekanbaru is good, but in its implementation it is constrained that human resources are still lacking and not proportional to the number of existing immigrants and the rules are not clear until when immigrants are in the city of Pekanbaru.
