Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the protection of endangered species carried out by the Riau Natural Resources Conservation Center in the Zamrud National Park. With the formulation of the problem, namely how to implement the protection of endangered animals in the Zamrud National Park and the efforts taken in implementing the protection of endangered animals as well as obstacles in implementing the protection of endangered animals. Based on the above background, this study aims to determine the implementation of the protection of endangered animals in the Zamrud National Park and the efforts made in the protection of endangered animals in the Zamrud National Park as well as the obstacles in the implementation of animal protection carried out by the Riau Natural Resources Conservation Center. This research method is a qualitative method while the research method uses descriptive research based on observations, interviews, and documentation as a data collection tool. This study uses the theory of CITES animal protection regulations, Juan Carlo Vaquee is assessed from the indicators of implementation, compliance with obligations, implementation of the law. The results of this study indicate that the Riau Natural Resources Conservation Center in protecting endangered animals in the Zamrud National Park and the efforts and obstacles faced. Overall, the role of the Natural Resources Conservation Center has been running well but there are still shortcomings in the form of limited Human Resources and facilities and infrastructure as well as funds to support performance.
