Abstract

Students who are able to face academic difficulties and use the right coping will form resilience, but if they don't, it will have an impact on self-reliance and drop out. One of the things he needs to become a tough person is being able to regulate himself. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between selfregulation in learning and academic resilience in Riau Islamic University students. This type of research is correlational quantitative. The samples in this study were 400 students from the Islamic University of Riau, which were determined using the cluster sampling technique. The data collection method in this study is to use the self-regulation scale in learning which consists of 45 items and The Academic Resilience (ARS-Indonesia) scale which consists of 24 items. The results of statistical analysis with the Pearson's product moment correlation test show that there is a significant positive relationship between self-regulation in learning and academic resilience in Riau Islamic University students, with an r value of 0.174 and a sig. 0.000. This means that the higher the self-regulation in learning, the higher the academic resilience of Riau Islamic University students.
