Abstract

Sucker Rod Pump (SRP) is the most popular artificial lifting equipment in the world, more than 70% of the world's oil wells use a sucker rod pump. The working principle of the sucker rod pump can be explained as follows: The rotational motion of the prime mover is converted into up and down motion by the pumping unit, especially by the pitman crank assembly system. Then this bobbing (up and down) motion by the horse head is made into a straight up and down motion to move the plunger. The problem that is often encountered in the use of SRP, especially in wells that have a high gas oil ratio value, is the entry of gas into the pump, the entry of gas can cause a gas lock and will reduce the efficiency of the SRP. Gas Anchor is one of the subsurface equipment used to prevent gas from entering the pump. The gas anchor will separate gas from liquid with the concept that liquid will descend and enter the pump and gas will rise to the annulus tubing. With the help of a simulator in the Prosper software, the use of anchor gas in the SRP will be simulated so that the results of pump efficiency calculations. Various types of anchor gas will also be applied to this modeling along with various gas oil ratio values and different production rates. With this research, it is obtained that anchor gas modeling using PROSPER software can properly describe the condition of SRP pumps and with anchor gas, GOR and production rate can be obtained. The oil well in field X has an average GOR which is in the high category. Where the GOR value in well X reaches 850 scf/stb, and the production rate is 18,139 stb/day.
