Abstract

The role of a teacher is dual, namely as an instructor and educator. Islamic behavior is the behavior owned by the teachers such as exemplary which will develop the teacher performance in learning process. Based on the background, the problem formulation of the study is how the efforts of Islamic Studies teachers in motivating the students to learn at Tsanawiyah Patani (Southern Thailand). The aim of the study is to find out the efforts of Islamic Studies teachers in motivating students to learn at Tsanawiyah Patani (South Thailand). This is a quantitative study based on the field data. The data collection techniques of the study are observation and documentation. The results of the study show that the teachers play a role in fostering students’ faith. The efforts of Islamic Studies teachers in motivating students to learn at Tsanawiyah Patani (South Thailand) are by always guiding and fostering students to always increase faith in everyday life through habituation in worship such as praying in congregation, giving lectures (short sermon), moral development, language programmes, and student directions to be better. Meanwhile, the roles of the Tauhid teacher in fostering student faith are as a facilitator, motivator, trigger, organizer, and inspirer, as well as a good example for students so that the students will provide good feedback in everyday life.
