Abstract

Prisson was a final part of the criminal justice system that applies in Indonesia, every perpetrator of a crime and has been decided by the court, efforts will be made to repair, foster, against him in a system called prison. Every person whose efforts are made to develop the crime he has committed is referred to as a prison inmate. However, the efforts made by the state in order to improve the social order do not always run smoothly and there are disturbances, an example can be taken is the repetition of crimes or what is known as recedivists, this is not possible because of interactions while in prison, causing opportunity to learn about the practices, modes, and ways of committing other crimes. This study discusses how the anticipation made by the Pekanbaru Class IIA Prisson so that the prison does not become a place for learning crime, this research is included in the descriptive qualitative type by using observation, interviews, and documentation. providing efforts to develop personality and independence, accompanied by rehabilitation for inmates so that it is considered quite effective in anticipating that the Pekanbaru Class IIA Prisson will not become a place for learning crime.
