Abstract

This study aims to determine the perceptions of students at SMA Negeri 4 Payakumbuh on the sinetron Anak Langit on SCTV. Television shows can provide something positive and negative depending on the user. The soap opera packages that appear on television are a form of educating the public in behaving and behaving in accordance with the norms and values of the community's culture. This study uses a qualitative approach, the subjects in this study were students of SMA Negeri 4 Payakumbuh, while the object of this study was the perception of students at SMA Negeri 4 Payakumbuh on the soap opera Anak Langit on SCTV. Data analysis used descriptive analysis. The results of the research that have been carried out, it is concluded that the perception of the soap opera Anak Langit which airs on SCTV according to the responses of students at SMA Negeri 4 Payakumbuh is a soap opera that displays the development of the association of teenagers in the metropolitan city. Anak Langit soap opera is a soap opera that features a group of young people who make motorcycle gangs. In its broadcast, the soap opera Anak Langit shows several positive sides, such as high solidarity in friendship that can be used as an example, mutual help and mutual respect. In addition to the positive side, of course, there are negative sides that should not be broadcast, such as scenes of violence and fights between motorcycle gangs. This is certainly a concern for parents, because it can have an unfavorable impact on adolescent relationships.
