Abstract
The transition period experienced by new students from before going to college to being a student will be a challenge and provide experiences that challenge learning styles such as academic assignments, independent living, managing personal and academic needs, social adaptation, and competition between students. This study aims to describe the learning readiness of new students at the Faculty of Psychology, Islamic University of Riau. Subjects in this study were 100 people selected by accidental sampling technique. The data collection tool is in the form of a learning readiness scale which consists of 40 items adapted from Lisa Kartika Sari (2020). The analysis used is descriptive statistical analysis. The results of the study show that the majority of new students at the Faculty of Psychology at the Islamic University of Riau are in the high category, namely 54% with a total of 54 people. In terms of gender and age, it was found that there was no significant difference in frequency at each level of learning readiness. This means that the learning readiness experienced by new students based on gender and age is that the majority are in the high category.
