Abstract

This study aims to determine the dance coaching at Sanggar Puti Lindung Bulan in Kuok District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. To discuss the problem of how dance coaching in Sanggar Puti Lindung Bulan this research uses Masdar Helmi's Theory of Coaching (1993: 22) it is concluded that to carry out coaching activities it is necessary to have planning, organizing (implementation) and control (evaluation). This study uses a descriptive analysis method using qualitative data. Primary data, based on observations and interviews. Secondary data are obtained from references and theses. The informants in this study were the coaches, trainers and dance leaders at Sanggar Puti Lindung Bulan, the Dance Section and members of the fostered studio. Schedule of dance material every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The results of this research are the dance coaching at Sanggar Puti Lindung Bulan has been running well, it can be seen from the running functions of guidance starting from planning, organizing (implementing) and controlling (evaluating) which have also gone well, such as the participation of Sanggar Puti Lindung Bulan in events, and social activities. And showing the dance coaching carried out in this studio has influenced the development of arts in Riau, especially Kampar. Each studio has procedures for developing its members. The coach's job is as a teacher, members who are coached can understand what has been taught according to the plan that has been made. So, the Dance Coaching is very meaningful in Sanggar Puti Lindung Bulan to develop and preserve traditional dances and creations.
