Abstract
This research describes the pattern of delinquency in children who are addicted to online games for a long time, so when there are limitations to fulfilling the desire to play, children are encouraged to take actions that are not according to the rules and tend to be carried out repeatedly. This study aims to find out how the pattern of delinquency is found in children who play online games (a case study in Rokan IV Koto District, Rokan Hulu Regency). This study used qualitative methods and social control theory put forward by Hirchi. Researchers conducted unstructured interviews with five teenagers who played online games, their parents, and members of the local community. The results of this study indicate that children who play online games commit delinquency have weak social control, they receive less attention from their parents. Children who often play online games tend to do mischief in the form of smoking, skipping school, lying, speaking harshly, and playing until they forget the time.
