Abstract

The organic SRI rice farming pattern is a combination of the SRI rice cultivation method which was first developed in Madagascar with the organic rice cultivation method in organic farming practices. This method will increase the function of the soil as a growing medium and a source of plant nutrition. This study aims to analyze (1) farmer characteristics and organic SRI rice farming profiles, (2) organic SRI rice production inputs subsystem, (3) organic SRI rice farming subsystem, (4) organic SRI rice agroindustry subsystem, (5) organic SRI rice subsystem marketing of organic SRI lowland rice, (6) supporting institutional subsystems for organic SRI lowland rice farming. This study used a survey method which was conducted in Kelayang Village, Rakit Kulim District from October 2021-April 2022. Data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. Respondents were taken by census. The results showed: (1) the average age of the farmer was 46.13 years, the length of education (equivalent to junior high school), the number of family dependents was 2 people and the business experience was 6 years and the average arable land area was 1.5 ha (2) the infrastructure subsystem production includes: where the average accuracy of seeds is 84.21%, the average accuracy of fertilizers is 76.31%, the average accuracy of pesticides is 73.68%, and the average accuracy of equipment is 77.19%. (3) The organic SRI lowland rice farming sub-system includes the largest production cost using fixed costs, which is IDR 12,282,479.89/MT. The second largest proportion is the cost of manure, which is IDR 6,000,000 The third largest proportion is the use of labor outside the family, which is as much as Rp. 2,369,000 The smallest allocation for the use of costs is seeds, which are as much as Rp. 68,089 Based on the results of the RCR analysis, it is known that the ratio between gross income and farming production costs is 1.53. This means that for every Rp. 1.00 allocated for production costs, a gross income of Rp. 1.53 will be obtained, this means that lowland rice farming is profitable and feasible to develop (4) The organic SRI lowland rice agro-industry subsystem is known that 1 kg of grain is only produce 0.6 kg of rice at a price of IDR 6,500. (5) There are 2 marketing channels for organic SRI paddy rice marketing subsystem, namely: channel I: farmers - regional level collectors - retailers - consumers. Channel II: entrepreneurs - consumers. Channel I is a more efficient marketing chain, with an efficiency value of 2%, (6) Supporting subsystems include: government, extension workers and Fajar Padi farmer groups. Activities that have been carried out include counseling, training and input assistance. However, the number of facilities and infrastructure provided by the government is not sufficient.
