Abstract

This research was motivated by lack of Al-Qur’an recitation ability at Islamic junior high school Masmur Pekanbaru. It could be seen from some phenomenon; some of students could not read well when Al-Qur’an recite. Some of students could not practice correct basic Tajwid. The formulation in this research questioned how Al-Qur’an Hadith teacher’s role in improving students’ Al-Qur’an recitation ability at Islamic junior high school Masmur Pekanbaru. This research was qualitative with case student approach. Research object was Al-Qur’an Hadith teacher’s role in improving students’ Al-Qur’an recitation ability at Islamic junior high school Masmur pekanbaru. The main informant was Mrs. Sa’dhiah S.Pd.I, and Mr. Hermawan,S.Sos as additional informant. Data collection technique used interview, observation and documentation. Data analysis computation used data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusion. Research finding showed that Al-Qur’an Hadith teacher’s role in improving students’ Al-Qur’an recitation in exampling Al-Qur’an recitation as suitable with spelling, exampling the polite ethic in bringing Al-Qur’an, reciting, and listening Al-Qur’an, creating learning media about tajwid law, exampling to recite Al-Qur’an suitable with tajwid science, training studdents to recite Al-Qur’an suitable with Hijaiyah Alphabet, training students to write Al-Qur’an verse suitable with hijaiyah alphabet, creating students’ habit to recite Al-Qur’an before starting lesson, testing students’ recitation after ending the lesson, giving motivation to students to improve their Al-Qur’an recitation ability, and appreciate students’ Al-Qur’an recitation ability.
