Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the relationship of motivation to the science learning outcomes of Class VIII students at SMP Negeri 4 Pekanbaru in the 2021/2022 academic year (2) the relationship of learning methods to the science learning outcomes of Class VIII students at SMP Negeri 4 Pekanbaru in the 2021/2022 academic year. (3) the relationship between motivation and methods of learning outcomes in science for grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 4 Pekanbaru in the 2021/2022 academic year. The methodology is correlational with data collection using questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The population of the study was class VIII students with a total sample of 128 students. Data analysis using Pearson Product Moment correlation. The results of the data (1) the average of all motivational indicators is 85.08%, very good category (2) the average of all learning indicators is 72.02% enough category (3) Student learning outcomes are 86.05% with medium category. Between the motivational variables (X1) on learning outcomes (Y) there is a low correlation value rx1y (0.244) with a significance test value of tcount (2.823) > ttable (1.979) with a contribution to learning outcomes of 5.95%, between learning variables (X2 ) to learning outcomes (Y) there is a low correlation value rx2y (0.201) with a significance test value of tcount (2.302) > ttable (1.979) with a contribution to learning outcomes of 4%, and between the motivation variable (X1) and the learning method variable (X2 ) on learning outcomes (Y) there is a low correlation value rx1rx2 (0.300), with a significance test value that tcount (3.529) > ttable (1.979) with a contribution to learning outcomes of 9%. It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between motivation and learning methods on science learning outcomes for class VIII at SMP Negeri 4 Pekanbaru in the 2021/2022 academic year.
