Abstract
The purpose in this research examined to know general description about juvenile delinquency and how the Islamic education teacher’s effort in overcoming students’ juvenile delinquency at senior high school Dharma Pendidikan Kempas Jaya, Kempas sub district, Indragiri Hilir regency. This research used qualitative with case study approach. The subject in this research was Islamic education teacher and the object in this research was Islamic education teacher’s effort in overcoming students’ juvenile delinquency at senior high school Dharma Pendidikan Kempas Jaya, Kempas sub district, Indragiri Hilir regency. Data collection used observation, interview, and documentation. Research finding showed that juvenile delinquency at senior high school Dharma Pendidikan classified into poor category that was: (1) some of students did not used hat and tie. (2) Some of students did not greeting to teachers. (3) Some of students hang out at canteen. (4) Some of students scratch school wall. (5) some of students did not do picket. (6) Some of students did not get in the class. (7) Some of students spoke impolite. (8) Some of students were smoking. (9) Some of students were skip the class. (10) Some of students had long hair. In the process Islamic education teacher’s effort by doing interview could be concluded that Islamic education teacher’s effort process in overcoming students’ juvenile delinquency classified very effective, by giving method such as exemplary, advice, suggestion, prohibition, motivation and threaten. It meant that Islamic education teacher’s effort in overcoming students’ juvenile delinquency at senior high school Dharma Pendidikan Kempas Jaya, Kempas sub district, Indragiri Hilir regency had significant steps. Based on transformation step of students’ juvenile delinquency such as discipline, speak polite, honest and did not skip the class. Transformation step of students’ juvenile delinquency by giving good influence to students such as forbid students went to canteen when empty hours. Furthermore, Islamic education teacher was very help in building students’ moral by always giving knowledge about the importance moral value in daily activities and creating students to have good moral.
