Abstract

This study aims to determine the interaction effect as well as the main effect of Bio Growth and coconut water on two-month-old rootstocks on grafting success and growth spurt of durian seedlings. This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Riau Agricultural Research and Development Agency which is located on Jalan Kubang Raya, Kubang Jaya Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency, for four months from January to April 2022. The research design used a Completely Randomized Factorial Design (CRD) by two factors. The first factor is bio growth (B), consisting of 4 levels, namely 0, 18, 36, 54 ml/L of water. The second factor is coconut water (K), consisting of 4 levels namely 0, 25, 50, and 75%. In order to obtain 16 treatment combinations with 3 replications, there were 48 experimental plots. Each plot consists of 4 plants with 2 plants taken as observation samples, so that the total plant is 192 plants. Parameters observed were plant height, rootstock diameter, scion diameter, bud break age, shoot length increase, number of leaves, and the percentage of success of grafting. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at the 5% level. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the interaction effect of bio growth and coconut water affects the parameters of plant height, rootstock diameter, scion diameter, bud break age, shoot length increase, number of leaves, but does not affect the percentage of successful grafting. The best treatment for bio growth is 54 ml/L water and coconut water with a concentration of 50%. The main effect of bio growth is to influence all observation parameters, with the best treatment found at 54 ml/L of water. The main effect of coconut water has an effect on all observation parameters, but has no effect on the increase in shoot length, the best treatment is with a concentration of 50%.
