Abstract

This research is motivated by the author's observations of natural tourism objects in Kamang Magek District which are not developed, the natural potential that exists is only left and not taken care of. The problems discussed in this study are How the Strategy for Development of Tourism Objects in Kamang Magek District by the Government of Agam Regency, the research indicators used include Attraction, Accessibility (Accessibility), Amenities (Supporting Facilities), Ancillary (Public Facilities), Institutions (Institutional). The objectives to be achieved through this research are to find out how the Tourism Object Development Strategy in Kamang Magek District is carried out by the local government, to find out the factors that hinder the government in developing tourism objects in Kamang Magek District. In this research, the method used is qualitative research. The type of data that can be measured directly comes from the results of the observation method, one-on-one interviews, conducting focus groups and similar methods. The key informants in this study were the Head of the Culture and Tourism Office of Agam Regency, while the informants in this study were employees and staff of the Kamang Mudiak village trustee office, where Kamang Mudiak Nagari is a place where natural tourism potential is located, as well as the surrounding community at the location of the tourist attraction. being researched by the author, which totals 26 people. Based on the research that has been done, the researcher assesses and concludes that the Strategy for Development of Natural Tourism Objects in Kamang Magek District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province is considered not to be implemented properly because seeing the condition of this natural tourism object is no longer suitable as a tourist attraction because of the absence of development efforts by the local government. as well as the local
