Abstract

The issue of wages and termination of employment is a problem that is most often disputed between workers/laborers and employers, which can result in disharmony in the working relationship. For workers/laborers see wages as a source of income to meet the needs of life and their families, while on the part of employers view wages as one of the burdens that must be borne because it is part of production costs and termination of employment is called a last resort to save the company. The problem is how is the legal protection for wages or the system for Termination of Employment for Street Sweeper Workers at the Pekanbaru City Environmental and Hygiene Office? What are the supporting factors and inhibiting factors for the implementation of legal protection for wages and the system of Termination of Employment for Street Sweeper Workers at the Pekanbaru City Environment and Environmental Hygiene Service? The research method is observational research, namely by surveying or reviewing directly to the research location using data collection tools, namely interviews and questionnaires. While its nature is descriptive, that is, research is intended to provide a detailed, clear and systematic description of the main research problems The results of the study can be concluded that the legal protection of the Department of Environment and Environmental Hygiene Pekanbaru City Pekanbaru City has not run well and maximally. There are obstacles that make it difficult for the company to run the work system properly. To overcome this problem, it is recommended to tighten supervision of companies and for workers/laborers to make more efforts to understand the rights and obligations that they should receive based on the laws that have governed them.
