Abstract

This study aims to determine the interaction and the main effect of organic NPK and hormonal ZPT on the growth and production of bitter melon. This research was carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharudin Nasution KM 11, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, the research period was 4 months from January to April 2022. The design used in this study, Randomized Design Complete factorial consisting of two factors. The first factor is the dose of Organic NPK (N) with 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 15, 30, 45 g/plant, while the second factor is Hormonic PGR (Z) with 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 3, 6, 9 ml/l, So there are 16 treatment combinations. Each treatment consisted of 3 replications so that 48 experimental units (plots) were obtained. Parameters observed were stem diameter, age of flowering, age of harvest, number of fruit per plot, weight of fruit per plot, weight of fruit per fruit, diameter of fruit, longest fruit length, and number of remaining fruits. The data obtained were analyzed for variance and then continued with the significant difference test (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of Organic NPK and Hormonic ZPT was significant for the observed parameters of flowering age, harvest age, number of fruits per plot, fruit weight per plot, fruit weight per fruit, longest fruit length and number of remaining fruits per plot. The best treatment was Organic NPK 45 g/plant and Hormonic ZPT 9 ml/l. The main effect of Organic NPK was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment of Organic NPK 45 g/plant. The main effect of Hormonic PGR was significant on all observation parameters. Best treatment ZPTHormonic 9 ml/l.
