Abstract

Pineapple farming in Teluk Batil Village is a source of income for farmers. The results of pineapple farming are expected to be profitable and prosperous for farmers. This study aims to analyze: 1) Farmer characteristics and pineapple farming profiles; 2) Pineapple farming and 3) pineapple marketing in Teluk Batil Village, Sungai Apit District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. This research was conducted in Teluk Batil Village, Sungai Apit District from April 2022 to September 2022. The method used is a survey method. Respondents were taken using a purposive sampling technique, namely 32 farmers with a land area of ??1-2 ha and 1 collector and retailer. Data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive statistical methods. The results showed: the average age of farmers is 45 years, 10 years of education (SMA), 8.59 years of experience and 5 family members. The pineapple farming profile obtained an average land area of ??1.67 ha, a spacing of 30x30 cm and using the morris variety. Pineapple cultivation techniques applied by farmers are generally in accordance with theoretical recommendations. The use of production factors per cultivation/production: average use of labor 45.63 HOK, 399.19 kg of urea, 23.41 kg of KCl, 5 liters of gromoxon and 1.6 liters of ethrel. Pineapple farming per cultivation/production: average production cost of Rp. 46,390,260.00, selling price of pineapple Rp.3,984.38/kg and production of 19,349.06 kg, gross income of Rp. 77,243,554.78 and a net income of Rp. 30,853,294.78. RCR 1.66 > 1, this means pineapple farming is efficient and feasible to develop. There are two marketing channels and eight marketing functions. The average total marketing cost of pineapple used in Channel I is Rp.25.83/kg and in channel II is Rp.114.67/kg. The total margin on channel II is Rp. 5.625/kg. Marketing profit on channel I is Rp. 9,974.17/kg with a farmer's share of 100%, while in channel II the profit is Rp.1,808/kg (collecting trader) and Rp.3,702/kg (retailer) with a farmer's share of 18.75% (collecting trader) and 37.5% (retailers). The pineapple marketing efficiency value in channel I is 0.3% and in channel II is 1.1%, it can be seen that channel I is more cost efficient than channel II, because channel I efficiency costs are smaller than channel II.
