Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see the existence of a 'julid' culture that occurred in the new media era on the detik forum online discussion forum by looking at julid's activities in the comments column of news uploads about celebrities in the detik forum online discussion forum. In this study the method used was descriptive qualitative by conducting in-depth interviews with three informants who were active members of the detik forum who often commented on Julid, as well as making direct observations in the online discussion forums of the detik forum. The results of this study found how netizens experience in the seconds forum, Julid is a habit and Julid's comments are divided into several categorizations. All data was collected using data triangulation techniques. In this study, researchers used the social-cyber reality model by Gotved as a theoretical basis. The conclusion from this study is that Julid's activities that occur in the online discussion forums of the detik forum are just an attitude or habit of netizens that are influenced by several factors such as viral news, controversial celebrities, and behavior that is not in accordance with the wishes of netizens who read the news.
