Abstract

This research was conducted on the basis of the low ability of the participants students in learning mathematics due to the difficulty of students in understanding the concept of learning mathematics due to the lack of learning resources used and supported by factors from the 2013 curriculum which expects students to be more active and creative in the cognitive domain. The purpose of this research is to produce a product in the form of student worksheets (LKPD) based on an Open-ended approach on valid and practical quadrilateral material. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) research conducted at SMPN 1 Bangkinang Kota. The subjects of this study were class VIII A students at SMPN 1 Bangkinang Kota in the 2022/2023 academic year. This study refers to the ADDIE development model, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The research instruments used were validation sheets and student response questionnaires. The LKPD was validated by 3 validators consisting of 2 math lecturers at UIR FKIP and 1 math teacher at SMP N 1 Bangkinang Kota. The student response questionnaire was filled in by all students in class VIII A, namely as many as 32 people. The results showed that the validation of student worksheets obtained an average value of 3.45 with a very valid category and the results of the practicality test of student response questionnaires obtained an average of 3.34 with a very practical category. Based on the results of the research, the Open-ended based Student Worksheets (LKPD) on rectangular material have been tested for validity and practicality.
