Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between hand eye coordination and arm muscle strength with the ability to serve under volleyball in volleyball extracurricular activities at SMPN 14 Dumai. The type of this research is multiple correlation. The population and sample in this research were volleyball extracurricular at SMPN 14 Dumai, totaling 14 people. The research instrument used was a test of hand eye coordination with throw catch tennis ball to the target wall and a test of arm muscle strength with floor push up and a volleyball bottom serve test. Based on the results of the research, the conclusions obtained in this study are: (1) There is a relationship between eye-hand coordination and the ability to serve under volleyball extracurricular volleyball students at SMPN 14 Dumai of rcount = 0.737 > rtable = 0.532 with tcount = 3.78 > ttable = 1.782, ( 2) There is a relationship between arm muscle strength and the ability to serve under volleyball extracurricular volleyball students at SMPN 14 Dumai of rcount = 0.767 > rtable = 0.532 with tcount = 4.15 > ttable = 1.782, (3) There is a relationship between eye-hand coordination and arm muscle strength with the ability to serve under volleyball in volleyball extracurricular activities at SMPN 14 Dumai is rcount = 0.803 > rtable = 0.532 with Fcount = 9.98 > Ftable = 3.74.
