Abstract
A person's capacity for adjustment refers to their capacity to comply with requests in order to satisfy the need to achieve harmony between themselves and their environment, or alternatively, it can be understood as an effort on their part to make friends with themselves and their surroundings in order to eliminate hostility, envy, desire, despair, anger, and other negative emotions that would otherwise be inappropriate reactions. The goal of this study was to ascertain how much effort ex-offenders put into reintegrating into society. The phenomenological technique is used in this study's qualitative methodology. Using the snowball survey method, this study included three ex-offenders from the Sekar Mawar hamlet as its subjects. Interviews and observation are the data collection methods employed. The results of this study demonstrate that each informant is capable of making efforts to adapt well or in the high category norm because it is included in a score between 18 to 25, as seen from the way he adapts to his environment, the ability to know his weaknesses and strengths, a sense of awareness of what is done and its impact, self-acceptance, way of selfdevelopment, self-control, satisfaction, and the ability to learn from experiences that have been passed from before.
