Abstract

Research this aim for knowing is there is influence intensity use of smartphones and fear of missing out ( fomo ) to nomophobia on student Faculty Psychology Riau Islamic University . The subjects of this study were 281 students (206 women and 75 men) who were determined with technique simple random sampling. Data collection is carried out with deployment scale online . Analysis of the data used on research this that is technique analysis Regression . Based on results analysis the t - value on the intensity of smartphone use is 10,505 and the significance value ( p ) = 0.000 (p< 0.05 ) and fear of being left behind (fomo) gets a t - value of 8,200 values significant ( p ) = 0.000 (p<0.5). Results from research this showing that there is influence intensity smartphone use and fear of missing out ( fomo ) against nomophobia on student Faculty Psychology Riau Islamic University . It means that the more tall level intensity smartphone use and fear of missing out ( fomo ) so the more tall level nomophobia and so otherwise . Donations effective from study this of 0.648 which means intensity smartphone use and fear of missing out provide donation by 64.8% against nomophobia .
