Abstract

This research was motivated by the problem of students’ class XI learning achievement in Islamic education lesson at senior high school Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru. There was some problems such as; was there any relationship between learning motivation and students’ class XI learning achievement in Islamic education lesson at senior high school Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru. The method used in this research was quantitative with correlational approach. The subject in this research was students’ at senior high school Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru, and the object in this research was relationship between learning motivation and students’ class XI learning achievement in Islamic education lesson at senior high school Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru. The population in this research was 63 students. Data collection technique used questionnaire, test and documentation. Based on data analysis, it was known that there was any relationship between learning motivation and students’ class XI learning achievement in Islamic education lesson at senior high school Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru. It was known that simple linear regression analysis with significant score 0.000 and 0.000 was smaller than 0.05 and the research hypothesis was accepted. The influence of learning motivation in 0.304 or 30.4% and in low category, it was in range 0.20-0.399 that was stated in correlation coefficient interpretation table. Meanwhile other 69.6% was influenced by others factors. It meant that the hypothesis was accepted. The relationship level between learning motivation and students’ class XI learning achievement in Islamic education lesson at senior high school Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru Riau was in low category.
