Abstract

This thesis discusses the Podang Pangean Silat Performance in the Sekijang Village community, Bandar Seikijang District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province.elements or elements of art that form the structure of a show, including motion, music, floor design, props, make-up, costumes, lighting and staging. The problem in this study is How is the Podang Pangean Silat Performance in the Sekijang Village community, Bandar Seikijang District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province?This research is to know and describe the Podang Pangean Silat Performance in the Sekijang Village community, Bandar Seikijang District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province. The theory that researchers usenamely Performance theory by Sumandiyo. The method used in the research This is a descriptive analysis, with a qualitative approach. Collection technique The data used in this study are observations, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study conclude that the Podang Pangean Silat Performance still exists today. Podang Pangean silat in the Sekijang Village community, Bandar Seikijang District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province, has 8 movements, namely: 1) greetings and worship movements, 2) silat flower movements, 3) bill or attack movements, 4) paliang movements, 5) joint movements I, 6) jerky motion II, 7) grassroots movement, 8) lanting pauh (cover). The musical instruments played in the Twenty One Day Silat show are Calempong, Gondang and ogong (gong). The costumes used are black Malay clothes, side cloth, and caps, while the property used is Podang.
