Abstract

Villages have the opportunity and responsibility to manage their own household for the benefit of the local community as well as to make local plans, one of which is the Lubuk Ogung Village Market, Bandar Sei Kijang District, Pelalawan Regency. The Village Market as a village asset is expected to be able to meet the needs of rural communities and provide a large retribution for village income. However, it must be realized that the conditions that occur do not go as expected. Market development in each village is very important to be developed, this is because if the existence of village markets in each village is good, it can increase community income and increase village original income. For this reason, it is necessary to look at the role of the village head in using village funds for village markets. The purpose of this research is to find out the role of the village government in managing the village market in Lubuk Ogung Village, Bandar Sei Kijang District, Pelalawan Regency and its obstacles. This research is a type of qualitative research with the informants are the Village Secretary, Head of Welfare, Traders and the Community. From the research that has been done, the conclusion is that Village Market Governance has not been implemented this year well. Basically, the community and traders really hope that the village market will make the village progress and make it easier for the community, especially the people of Lubuk Ogung Village themselves. For now, the community, traders and the government can only be patient in order to achieve the return of the village market in Lubuk Ogung Village. The obstacle in Village Market Governance is that the village government has neglected the village market for too long, so that it takes a long time for the village market management process to return to being active as before. The village government is too busy thinking about anything else that the village market has been lying dormant for so long until now.
