Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the interaction effect and the main effect of vermicompost fertilizer and urea fertilizer on oil palm seedlings in the main nursery. The research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru City, for 3 months from April to July 2021. The study used a factorial completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the effect of Kascing fertilizer consisting of 4 levels of treatment, namely 0, 300, 600, and 900 g/plant. The second factor was urea fertilizer consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 3, 6, and 9 g/plant, so there were 16 treatment combinations with 3 replications and 48 experimental units (plots). The parameters observed were increase in plant height, increase in the number of midribs, increase in the length of the longest midrib, increase in weevil girth, and root volume. The data were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), F count is greater than F table, followed by a further test of 5% level of BNJ. The results showed that the interaction between vermicompost and urea had a significant effect on the increase in plant height, the increase in the number of midribs, the increase in the length of the longest frond, the increase in weevil girth, and the volume of roots. The best treatments were vermicompost 900 g/plant and urea 9 g/plant. The main effect of vermicompost was real on all parameters, the best treatment with a dose of 900 g/plant. The main effect of real urea fertilizer on all parameters, the best treatment with a dose of 9 g/plant.
