Abstract

Forests and Natural Resources as gifts and trust in the Almighty God, Basically, nature has a diverse but harmonious nature, one component of the environment that holds the key in ecosystems is humans. Because of that protection and preservation of nature must continue to be carried out to maintain harmony and balance All natural resources, both biotic and abiotic that can be utilized for human welfare are natural resources, plants, animals and microbes are Natural Resources. While other abiotic factors are non-living natural resources. The use of natural resources must be followed by maintenance and preservation because natural resources are limited. The main problems of this research are: What are the factors causing the crime of protected plants in Pekanbaru? And what is the modus operandi of the crime of trafficking in protected plants in Pekanbaru? This type of research is classified into observational research, the author descends directly to the field to find and collect data that will be used as material for writing scientific papers, the data obtained through questionnaires and direct interviews. The results of this study can be seen that the factors that cause the occurrence of criminal acts of protected plants in Pekanbaru are: lack of awareness and knowledge of the community about plants that are protected, economic factors, high demand from buyers, weak law against perpetrators of criminal acts of protected plants. And the modus operandi of the criminal act of protected plant trade in the city of Pekanbaru is to sell with vehicles, besides that the perpetrators also sell by utilizing technology using social media and also word of mouth.
