Abstract
This study aims to determine the difficulties of online learning in the biology subject of class XI students of SMAN 2 Mandau. This research was carried out in January-March 2022. The implementation of this research used a descriptive method with survey techniques in class XI students of SMAN 2 Mandau in the 2021/2022 academic year. The sampling technique used a random sampling technique (simple random sampling). The number of research samples was 122 students. The instrument in the research used was an online learning difficulty questionnaire consisting of 30 statement items and had been validated. The data collection technique in the study used a questionnaire that was distributed directly in the classroom. Based on the research, it was found that the factors causing online learning difficulties in biology subjects for class XI students were the first indicator of signal technical problems and online learning disabilities 70.76% in the strong category, the second indicator of the implementation of interactions, assignments, and teaching materials in online learning 67.33 % strong category, indicators of the three stakeholders helping the government, schools, parents of students in online learning 69.55% strong category. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that online learning difficulties in biology subjects for class XI students of SMAN 2 Mandau in the 2021/2022 academic year had an average percentage value of 69.21% which was categorized as strong.
