Abstract

The Basiacuong tradition is a form of oral tradition of the Kampar Malay community in Riau Province. This tradition has existed for a long time, and not all generations want to learn it. Of course, these conditions can affect the existence of the basicuong tradition. Therefore, it needs to be investigated further, so that the purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the extension of the basiacuong tradition in Pulau Belimbing Village, Riau Province. This research method is a qualitative method. The results showed that the existence of the basiacuong tradition in Pulau Belimbing Village, Kuok District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province is still maintained until now. It is known from the history of the emergence of these traditions, the existence of these traditions are learned and taught, it is known from the evidence in the form of books containing the basiacuong tradition. In addition, the basiacuong tradition has been registered as an Intangible Cultural Heritage (WBTB) at the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, and there is support from the Kampar Regency Government in the form of holding competitions every year.
