Abstract

Food is one of the basic human needs that must be met in daily life, so the food consumed must be healthy and safe for the human body. In meeting food needs, there is an interaction between business actors and consumers. One of the suppliers of food products is home industry food. As a food business actor, there are obligations that must be fulfilled, one of which is to include food labels in accordance with Article 8 paragraph (1) letter i of the UUPK on the packaging of the food they produce. Food labels are very important to be included both for business actors and consumers. The main problems from the results of the research are: 1. How is the implementation of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection against the circulation of crackers that do not have labels in Pekanbaru City. 2. What are the legal consequences of the circulation of unlabeled crackers in Pekanbaru City. The research method used is research using observational research methods, namely by means of interviews. By using data collection tools, namely interviews and observations. The results of the research show that: 1) P-IRT products in Pekanbaru City are mostly still found to be in violation of labeling provisions according to article 8 paragraph (1) letter i of the UUPK. 2) However, in fact, even though a regulation has been made in the BPOM regulation, namely in article 5 paragraph 1 of BPOM Regulation number 31 regarding food it is stated that the label as referred to in article 2 must contain at least the information regarding the name of the product, list of ingredients used, name and address of the party involved. producing or importing, net weight or net content, required halal, production date and code, expiry date, distribution permit number, origin of certain food ingredients. However, there are still many food products that are not in accordance with the standards specified in Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection and in BPOM regulations, especially the inclusion of labels on food product packaging
