Abstract

Secondhand clothing business is a micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME). The owner of a used clothing business in Belilas, Seberida Subdistrict, Indragiri Hulu still does not know the bookkeeping system in his business books. This study aims to determine the extent to which the understanding of used clothing business actors on the application of accounting in their business is in accordance with the basic concepts of accounting. The types and sources of data in this study are primary data and secondary data. The research technique used is by distributing questionnaires and conducting interviews. This study uses a descriptive analysis method which compares the data and information that has been collected and then compares it with the basic concepts of accounting. The results of this study are the implementation of accounting to the used clothing business in Belilas, Seberida District, Indragiri Hulu is not in accordance with the basic concept of accounting, this is because the recording made by the used clothing business owner still uses a cash basis and still combines household costs in calculating his business profit and loss.
