Abstract

Based on the results of observations conducted by researchers in the field, researchers encountered several phenomena when students did the long jump. It was seen from the average jumping distance that it was still not maximal, the running speed was still less consistent, while in the air the jumping style was far less visible. . The purpose of this study is to find out whether there is a contribution of speed and power of leg muscles to the results of the long jump of students in the second semester of the semester B of Riau Islamic University. This type of research uses multiple correlation research. The population in this study were 2nd semester students of FKIP UIR Penjaskesrek FKIP. The sample in this study amounted to 40 male students using total sampling. The test instruments that were carried out were the speed test for running, standing broadjump and the long jump. Data analysis techniques are those that are tested based on the results of the research that have been carried out. It can be concluded that there is a contribution between running speed and leg muscle power to the long jump results of the 2nd semester students of orchids in FKIP of Islamic University of Riau at 68.7% with r count 0.577> r table 0.423.
