Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the interaction effect and the main effect of bamboo leaf compost and organic NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of cucumber plants. This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru City, for 4 months starting from September to December 2021. The research design used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors. The first factor is the dose of bamboo leaf compost (K), consisting of 4 levels, namely 0, 50, 100, and 150 g per polybag. The second factor is the dose of Organic NPK fertilizer (N), consisting of 4 levels, namely 0; 2.25; 4.50 and 6.3 grams per polybag. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaf sheaths, number of tillers, age of harvest, wet weight per clump, economic weight, dry weight per clump and root crown ratio. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction effect of bamboo leaf compost and organic NPK fertilizer was significant on the parameters of observing the number of leaf midribs, number of tillers, wet weight per clump, dry weight per clump, economic weight and root crown ratio. The best treatment was a combination of bamboo leaf compost 150 g/polybag and Organic NPK 6.3 g/polybag (K3N3). The main effect of bamboo leaf compost was significant on all monitoring parameters. The best treatment was a dose of bamboo leaf compost 150 g/polybag (K3). The main effect of Organic NPK fertilizer was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment is the dose of Organic NPK with 6.3 g/polybag (N3).
