Abstract
In expedition activities, of course, there will be losses experienced by one of the parties, how the legal protection and how to handle the expedition party are problems in expedition activities. Legal protection of consumers and business actors is very useful, especially in expedition activities. In expedition activities, the most important factor is that the expedition party gets the trust of the community to use the expedition. This is related to how the legal protection provided by the exploitation party if the consumer gets a loss. In this regard, this research was deployed to examine how legal protection for consumers who use expedition services, especially in the J&T expedition service company Pekanbaru City. Another thing in this study is how the expedition company handles problems if there is a loss that occurs to consumers who use the Pekanbaru City J&T expedition service. In this study, it used the observation or survey research method, where data collection was carried out by directly involving spaciousness by conducting interviews and questionnaires. The results showed that consumer protection for users of J&T Kota Perkanbaru expedition services has not been fully fulfilled, seen where there are still various kinds of problems such as, delays, even lost goods, as well as lack of handling in the responsibility of the expedition party. This happened due to negligence on the part of the expedition and damaged vehicles. This is an obstacle factor in the implementation of consumer protection. In carrying out J&T expedition goods delivery activities, it is trusted by the public to impart goods so that they reach the recipient's hands safely, on time, and safely without any damage and delays. The J&T City expedition party should pay attention to consumers and prioritize consumer satisfaction so that it becomes a good image for the J&T expedition. The J&T expedition party in Pekanbaru city does not violate which has obligations in accordance with applicable regulations. The Pekanbaru City J&T expedition party is obliged to provide correct and clear information to consumers so that disputes do not occur. Consumers must know how important consumer protection laws and regarding BPSK (Consumer Dispute Resolution Agency) are so that consumers are protected from losses that will be suffered. This can also minimize the occurrence of disputes or defaults between the company and its users.
